Plex is ignoring local artist posters

Whether it’s artist-poster.jpg, folder.jpg, or folder.png, Plex is ignoring local artist poster images. The library is configured to prefer local metadata, and to use local files only for album art, and that works perfectly. But there is no setting for artist posters, so I’m assuming Plex is supposed to follow the traditional priority of local sidecars, embedded, images, online sources. It doesn’t appear to be doing so.

Here are a few examples. The images on the left are what Plex finds. On the right are the local images:

Are you using a 3rd party audiobooks agent? I’ts up to the agent on the order of what to use. It may be ignoring the local posters.

I do have an Audiobooks agent installed, but when I build a fresh library with it, it doesn’t get any artist posters, local or otherwise.

Can you dance 1 book and get me new logs? The one you provided showed it was using that audiobook agent. Maybe I was looking at the wrong thing.

I ran tests with both, so I was switching back and forth. I thought the last attempt was with the Plex scanner, but I may have messed up.

I repeated this with PMS build 1.20.5.3551 and a couple of the examples shown in the first post, and this is still happening.

It’s now also ignoring album covers as well, which it used to be rock-solid on.

This is still a problem, or a problem again, if it was ever fixed. And not just with audiobooks. I just ran some experiments with a couple of music artists, and local artist posters aren’t even added to the Artist Edit/Poster tab.

Looking through logs after a ‘Refresh metadata,’ and again after a Plex Dance, I don’t even see mention of the local artist-poster.jpg file (or folder.jpg), so I don’t know if it’s even trying.
