I’m trying to fix an incorrectly named episode for Miss Marple. All episodes are imported correctly except episode 9. There is only 1 season for miss marple. However, plex wishes to categorize episode 9 as season 9 episode 1. Deleting and renaming does not appear to do anything. I am using the proper naming convention as best as I can tell. I have deleted the files, rescanned my library, emptied trash, cleaned bundles, and reimported but still no success. Is there a way to manually force the proper episode name?
How is Plex identifying the episode?
How should it be named?
Is there any metadata embedded in the file? If so, is it correct? Plex might be picking up the wrong information from bad metadata.
MediaInfo is a good tool to view embedded metadata. See Investigate Media Information and Formats for additional information.

Also note that if your files are MP4 then you may have garbage metadata causing the hiccup.

Thanks guys, I got it working now!
One final question. How would you name the DVD xtras?
If the extra is listed on thetvdb(or themoviedb) then name in the order they have it.
But changes are they will not list it. If I was going to add it, I would name it
Miss Marple (1984) - s00e100 - My extra.. Whatever it is...mkv
Miss Marple (1984) - s00e100 - My extra.. Whatever it is...jpg
I would also take a good snapshot of a scene and name it the same. Then go into plex and edit the metadata to reflect what I wanted…
