New Library Scan is not operating

Hello,

I have 2 libraries. One for movies and one for TV shows. I can add to and perform a scan in the Movie folder and the new files will be added.

The TV folder has existing media in it and I just added more content. However when I “scan library files”, nothing happens. I have added another folder to test with and I have the same results.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

Most common / basic explanation is bad naming.

Would you mind sharing some more details about your setup?
e.g. which exact version of Plex Media Server do you have installed on your Windows machine, which scanner/agent is configured for the tv-show library ( > Manage Library > Edit...Advanced), maybe a sample of your file naming/organization?

Installed on a Windows 11 Pro Machine.

As I mentioned, I have been successfully using this for some time. Adding to both Movie and TV folders. Movie folder scans without issues, TV folder did scan perfectly in the beginning. It’s now that I add more content in this folder, it doesn’t even attempt to scan.

Well, I figured it out. In this case, because I didn’t have the names correctly, it didn’t even do a scan. Strange for sure. But you had me on the right path of discovery.
