Server Version#: PLEX Server 1.16.1.1291-158e5b199
OS: Linux Mint 19.1
I recently installed Linux Mint on my computer (trying to move away from Windows) and installed Plex. Plex is the main task for this machine, so very important that I get it to work… I have my media files on a different disk than where my OS is installed and where Plex runs. When I add the folders to the libraries, Plex doesn’t see any of the subfolders that contain my media.
I did use to run my Plex server on an earlier version of Mint once before a while ago, and I remember running into the exact same problem.
I know that it has to do with permissions. At the time I was able to figure it out and get it fixed pretty quickly but for some reason, I can’t get it to work this time. I have searched the internet and there are different answers and it is very confusing. Can somebody help me with some step by step instructions to set this up properly that are easy to follow for a Linux noob? I searched, but like I said it has become quite confusing…
The folder for my media is mounted as follows:
Device: /dev/sdb1
Contents: NTFS — Mounted at /media/andy/DATA
Thanks!
