Plex is only available when connecting to direct IP

So I have access to my server only when connecting to it on the network, local host, or my public ip address and the established port forward. This only recently happened, and I haven’t changed any settings recently.

just edit the reply and delete the web.log, or delete the whole reply if that doesn’t work…

Back to your original issue… I’d disable remote access and re-enable for starters. Have a look at the secure connections section… does it say secure is preferred, required, or disabled?

It’s set to preferred, and I’ve tried restarting the connection, its always showing a green check mark. I’ve tried hitting the retry, restarting the plex server, restarting the whole computer, restarting my router, and my modem to no avail!

Check whether canyouseeme.org can see your server listening on port 32400.

Edit: Stupid idea actually since connecting via IP works fine as you mentioned. Guess I’m done for today.

My bad… forgot it was posted above. That’s weird, as mine says I’m current… short of uninstall / reinstall I’m not sure what advice to give you. As long as you reinstall as the same user you’ll retain your metadata…

I’m having the same issue - version 1.13.8.5395 - it was working fine just a few days ago - tried all the same things (rebooting server, disabling/enabling remote access, etc)

Unraid: Plex Inc, and Linuxserver.io…having the same issues
I even tried downgrading my linuxserver.io version way back and nothing worked.

I have frontier which took over for verizon in my area 2 years ago. Also, confirmed that if i specify my public IP outside the network and the port it works. So its just when browsing to it by app.plex.tv.

I confirmed that as well, my automatic port works, its just when I use the app or the app.plex.tv

Mine has done that twice today where it pops back up then a few hours later its access is down again.
