Plex Remote Access Stopped Working

Server Version#: 1.13.8.5395
Player Version#:

Plex Remote Access was working just fine about three days ago and then it just stopped. I tried:
Setting my PC with a static IP address
Port Forwarded the right channel
Reset my router (unplugged for two minutes and plugged back in)
Closed Plex and turned back on
Updated Plex from Release to Beta
Turned off PC firewall
Turned off anti-virus

I have no idea what else I could try. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Logs are attached.

i am having the exact same issue. its driving me nuts.

Same here, posted something yesterday and I’m waiting an answer.

My had stopped, so I realized that the problem was that the router was not getting the pv6. I called the service provider and they fixed the problem

Test here

Same here, but i can see on the remote server page that is not my public IP.

I am having the same problem, Remote access was working perfectly yesterday, I got Plex Pass today, got home, added a user then it stopped working… I changed no IP’s/settings anywhere, It was working throughout the day.

Exact same problem. Remote access was working properly until the latest update was installed. Now Plex identifies an internal IP address of 172.17.0.1 as the public IP. If a manual port is specified, it will correctly detect the public IP address, but remote access remains broken. No network settings were changed upstream of the server. Glad to see I’m not the only one experiencing this issue.

I just tried to downgrade to 1.13.5.5332, it did not work… I am having the same problem with my public being detected as 172.17.0.1 until manual port is selected. Also, when 172.17.0.1 is detected as public, it shows that remote access is working.

that’s a reserved network for private use, usually used for VM’s like docker, they did something and are handing it out instead of your real address. If you just connect to your external address/port you can use plex remotely. Not sure how you’d do that with clients other than web.

Same freaking issue here!

I have my server direct connected to internet, no internal IP, and now I am having connectivity issues. Checking server stuff i saw this wird new thing:

I don´t know why I have a new IP!

Of course my PC DOES NOT have any new IP, I have just one IP: the public one.

Any clue?

take a look at here too:

I think, they are not aware of the problem level.

Same here, I thought it was just mine because I just rebuilt my video server. Glad to see I am not the only one having the same issue.

Should be fixed by now. They had a plex.tv side issue.

Hmmm, I’m still seeing the same issue.

Same issue for me as well just up and down all the time

Same here. I’m getting that same weird IP address. Is the fix in a new release or something on Plex’s side?

Plex have said its something on their side, however they also say they have resolved the issue but many are having problems.

Anyone FROM Plex able to lend a hand? Anything else we can try or do on our end to help resolve the issue since it isn’t EVERYONE, but a good size of people?

Mine is working again, I reverted all my changes to what I had prior to the problem, if it isnt working, try to disable and re-enable remote access. I still am on the previous version though. (1.13.5.5332)

Mine still isn’t working. I tried reverting back to the old settings, but I may have missed something. Is anyone out there about to look at some new logs and see if I changed something that would make it still not work?
