I would like to talk to someone regarding the recent insertion of commercial interruptions into the programs that I view. I expect the commercials to be removed from my content. Please exercise the appropriate steps on my account, or contact me if there is something that must be done on my end.
I expect that someone would respond specifically to the new ads that have been injected to the local content that I stream from my server. The content does not come from Plex and should not require advertisements to support it. Your office will be furnishing a fix so that ads do not play while I watch my own private content. Please let me know when I should expect a fix to be applied.
I very much object to the support department and the billing departments insistence that I must use a public forum to handle what ought to be a flip of a switch so that my local content does not have ads. I find this level of effort to resolve an issue very annoying and if I must hop through more hoops I will make known exactly how I feel Iâve been managed through this process.
Please reply promptly with a fix to resolve this issue.
We donât inject anything into personal content at all. The only way a commercials that could be in content is if it is just the commercial as part of the file as recorded from a DVR. They are only shown in our streaming content which you can disable at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources if you donât use them.
( I suppose cinema trailers could be considered commercials but you can turn those off too.)
Glad to hear it. Never the less I am getting commercials every 10 or 15 minutes in movies which definitely do not have live commercials stitched into them. The commercials are coming from PLEX, just as if I weâre watching a YouTube video without a premium membership.
Live TV, web shows, podcasts etc are already disabled from the link you furnished. If I disable Movies and TV will that mean I wonât be able to stream my personal content over my network?
I donât watch PLEXâs content at all. Everything with commercials is stored on my own personal server. This started happening last night. What should I do about it?
So, this wasnât initially apparent but the identical movie that I have locally is also on Crackle. When I searched the Crackle version popped up and I was watching that by mistake. Feels like a stupid mistake now that I am seeing the difference.
I think you can close the ticket. Thank you for your assistance.
So here I am in 2025. I recently was gifted the complete Sparatcus Blood & Sand series on Blueray. I used Handbrake to encode and place on my Plex server for easier viewing. Problem is for some reason this is the only show inserting ads and I do mean A LOT of ads. Someone spent good money to get me the blue ray set, I spent days encoding on Handbrake only for ads to play on the epsided, 19 commercials in 1 episode and they are not skippable. Only show doing this, my TNG blue ray I did the same way and it plays perfect no ads. What is going on?
