Haven’t been able to get my PS4 connected to the Plex server… first i couldnt connect, now i can connect but it gives that error constantly, cant get anything to make it work. on PS3/Iphone it works perfectly fine though
I had the same issue, I have been able to pinpoint this down to DNS resolvement issue. Im hoping I can avoid setting up dynamic DNS because of this. But as soon as I configured a local DNS as the secondary DNS server, things have been without problems.
For some strange reason, PS4 does not report it´s hostname to my routers DNS service. why, I don´t know Im not a network guy. But I belive if it did so this would not happen.
I have been able to figure out my problem. I do not what exactly did the trick, but here is what I did.
My PlexMedia Server is running on VMware Esx Host, I enabled promiscuous mode, and I manually added DNS etries for the Media Server (running CentOS). Then I have this thing running now.
My Guiess is that there where some connectivity between my server and playstation that was not working or allowing it to go trough.
For other people´s problem I cannot say, but I know that the default DSL routers do not protforard between internal ports unless you telnet into them and turn that off. That might cause similar behaviour as I faced with my Hypervisor and promiscuous mode.
