Plex keeps asking for admin permission

Server Version#:
Player Version#:Version 1.0.0.792-d4adb056

I installed the Plex app on my Windows 10 system but when I start it up it acts like an installer and keeps causing the permission window to pop up asking for my admin password. When I refuse it will sometimes start anyway, but other times it pops up a window saying aborting installation.
It’s really annoying and I don’t know what the hell is happening. When I installed it it created shortcuts to the app and an uninstaller shortcut in the Start folder. I tried deleting the folder and starting from within Plex in the programs folder and it keeps happening.

When it does run it is great. It’s just annoying to open it and have to go through this rigmarole.

It is downloading updates for the app in the background. After it has downloaded a new version, upon the next app start it asks you to let it install the new version.

Okay. Perhaps having the app tell you it has an update to install would be helpful. Especially when you are familiar with how it happens within the server. Clicking the player icon and having it ask for permissions without explaining why is suspicious.

I have played with 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 installation for a good while now.
The update process is much better after v1.0.
There should be a popup that lets you know an update is available.
updates
Click remind later closes out popup and starts the plex app. update now will download then elevate UAC to install.

Install version 1.2 here.

I’ll try that. Being able to put off the update is good if you just want to quickly catch up on something.
