Plex keeps crashing and disappearing from system tray

I need help. Plex has been an absolute pain the past week or so. It constantly crashes and then it removes itself from the bottom right tray area. Also, while playing video it will cut off with some error and I have to hit play again and that error eventually comes back. I forget the actual wording atm.

I am trying to find server logs, but not sure exactly what info you may need.

I really want to fix this as it has been such a pain.

I am unsure if the following logs are useful or not, sorry if they are long. I have 5 logs just from today I think.

Server settings also say they are unavailable…

Also, when I look at people playing videos from my server, the images/movie posters are not loading.

Im having the same problem since this upgrade tried reinstalling and deleting it all but still nothing. Very annoying hoping someone has a fix

This is absolutely horrible.

I keep reopening plex and eventually errors ensue… I go to restart plex in the system tray and it disappears.

Sort of. I had to roll all the way back to Plex Version 1.18.8.2527 and don’t have the issues.

However, I would like to upgrade at some point.

I was told that the issue was something do with curl and scanning.

Same here. Mine has crashed on 6/10, 6/21, 6/25 and 6/26 (all 2020) - running Windows 10…

I restart it as soon as I get notification from Up-time Robot, so it obviously runs fine for a number of days before crashing. What is conspicuously annoying is that there is no entry for the crash in the Media Server Log files, it just says the last thing it did. The crash uploader report says “Failed to upload crashdump fcc00c0b-7e50-45ce-8807-cbd3487b400f: 400”

Windows event viewer also has zero entries for Plex.

Anyone know of a way to read the crashdump files?

For now I am bandaging this problem by using ProcessAlive from singularlabs. I am not associated with it, but it’s simple and works. Just make sure you run it with admin rights, otherwise the settings won’t save.

I have the same issue. Running Windows 10. Keeps crashing all the time. No entries on WIndows Event. Failed upload to sentry.io (Failed to upload crashdump),
