I’m not sure what’s going on but my Plex Media Server:
Records a show
Apparently deletes it
Even though it’s been told not record
Additionally some episodes of the same show say they aren’t going to record.
Once we actually saw an episode that managed to record and wasn’t deleted immediately, but we went back a day later and poof gone again.
Finally here are the series settings.
This is getting extremely irritating and I don’t know how many other shows might be affected by this so would love to figure out what happened to screw up this program recording.
My guess is at some point you set the record setting to keep for 7 days or 30 days or some other option. This sets the library show settings. Once shows are recorded there is a process that runs called garbage collection, the garbage collection uses the library settings. FYI, Plex uses the original air date of episodes to determine when to delete, not the record date.
With the latest update all of a sudden we now have 12 episodes show up. Unfortunately most of them will only play the first few seconds and then just sit there. They all seem to have the same beginning sequence as well.
Whether or not we marked it as 7 days or 30 days delete it should still leave them there for us to see, however they are not even there for more than a few hours (maybe, haven’t had time to try and test it out).
Even though these appear to be broken recordings I am now finally able to get in and see what their settings were:
(Keep Last 30 days)
(Delete after watching within a week) - hard to do since we never were able to see any
I’ve now updated these so we’ll see if it manages to record this show properly. There are other shows on this same channel it does just fine so I’m not sure what the problem is with this one.
