Server Version#:1.28.2.6151
Player Version#:1.52.1.3195-a0c4d5e9
I have 2 main plex servers, one on Kubuntu 20.04, and the other on Windows 2016 DCE. my main movies library is synchronized between the two servers.
On the Linux server,
The “>All Movies” library uses a directory that contains symlinks pointing back to the replicated .mkv files.
the “Television” library on both servers contain the same folders/files structure, and the Library itself has that directory.
(The main reason I mention this is this problem is not happening on the Windows box, but I don’t think that this is a problem with the symlinks because I am using them only on the linux/>All_Movies" library.)
I recently added a new Movies title to both servers, but on the linux server, the match happens, but there is no movie poster present. I added a different title, and it’s movie poster shows up.but never for this title.
On the Windows system, the match happened and the movie poster is present.
I have been using the Plex app for Windows to manage both of these servers, but the same thing shows up on my ROKU and AppleTV players, so I am sure it is a server side issue.
Incidentally, I have tried removing the “bad” movie file from the plex server->removed the symlink->Scan Library Files->{watched it disappear}-restored the file->re-created the symlink->Scan Library Files->watched the title and the metadata come up, but no poster.
I have also emptied trash/refreshed metadata for the movie & television libraries that are affected (some of my television shows here are missing posters, but only on the linux server), but nothing works.
This is driving me crazy. How can I totally remove something from a PLEX server, and ensure that the metadata will entirely download?
Best Regards,
Mark Crowley
