Plex library update required

For a certain reason i have to use the tvdb agent for the series but plex does not let me, it requires me to update the library and when i do it goes back to the plex tv series scanner

What reason is that?

  • Is the show not listed on Plex‘s metadata?
  • Do you want/need an episode order only available on TheTVDb?
  • Is the show listed as something else on Plex‘s Metadata (e.g. a tv movie)?
  • …

There’s should be a way to deal with all that.
Plus… the legacy agents are due to be discontinued at some point.

I’m using a script to move my metadata and for it to work the tvdb ids have to match, so I need it to use that

Are you referring to the data available via Plex‘s APIs?
The dataset for episodes matched using the current-generation agent do list those…
