This show metadata is driving me crazy! Even if I try to force TVDB data (searching tvdb-386049), plex seems to prefer PlexAgent data that contains less info and wrong episode pics.
Probably I’m doing something wrong,
This is the correct metadata: https://thetvdb.com/series/the-way-of-the-househusband
This is the metadata that Plex sync no matter what: https://watch.plex.tv/show/the-way-of-the-househusband
As you can see some of the preview pic are from the anime, but this is the live action. This trigger my OCD really bad. My server version is 1.25.5.5492
The new plex modern agent will never pull metadata from a single source. The old legacy ones would but the new one is a consolidation of metadata from imdb, tmdb and tvdb.
You can control the episode ordering in the advanced settings of the library but that won’t effect the metadata itself in all but a very few exceptions.
In saying all that, there is a linkage via external ids in tmdb to tvdb that can help in situations like this so let me check them for this show later when I’m back at my PC. They could be missing or wrong which can throw stuff off.
Looking at https://watch.plex.tv/show/the-way-of-the-househusband it looks like the two version of this shows episodes are getting mixed up on the plex side.
I have added imdb and tvdb external ids for each episode of both shows over at tmdb which I would be hopefully will solve the problem. These ids link them all together and when plex picks up these changes it should replicate into their system, at least that is my hope.
It typically takes 48 hours for changes on tmdb to make it to plex but that has slowed in the past week so give it a few days, check watch.plex.tv and then force refresh the metadata on your side.
