I just got the support TV Tuner (Hauppauger WinTV-soloHD) as recommended by Plex. It works fine in Windows using their provided WinTV Program. However when I tried to add the TV Tuner to Plex LIVE TV DVR feature. It keeps asking for XMLTV file which is not available for Singapore. I tried switching to “by country” and it prompts that Singapore is unsupported. So even after I was able to force scan the channels, I was not able to match/pair the Channels to the EPG Guide.
I would suggest an option to exclude the XMLTV File for unspported Countries.
So even with a support TV Tuner as recommended by Plex I still cannot add it as part of a stream on my Plex Server locally. I am truely disappointed by this!
Yes, there is no easy way to get Singapore EPG XMLTV File. Hauppauger WinTV 10 Application is able to get and update the EPG thru the signal but unfortunately, it doesn’t allow anyway to export the EPG to XMLTV File.
What truely makes me mad and both Plex and Hauppauger advertised that LIVE TV streaming voer Plex is supported but not indicate that Singapore is not a supported country without the XMLTV File.
To be honest, I do not need any EPG for the channels since I don’t intend to do any form of DVR Recording. I’m only interested in streaming thru my Plex so that I can watch local TV over Plex at home on any of my devices. Would be good if there is an option to not want any EPG support on Plex and just stream channels directly from the Tuner.
