since days I try to connect the Fritzbox 6590 Cable Firmware 7.00 with the Plex Server, but unfortunately without success.
My Plex is running on a FreeNAS-11.1-U6 Jail and works (except for this problem) very good.

Player Version#: 3.67.1
The Fritzbox is not branded or something like that, the DVB-C Stream works great with VLC from PC.
The Fritzbox is reachable from the Jail and I also can do a Telnet on Port 553.
If I try to search for a DVR Device nothing is showing. A tail of the log:

Do I forget something to configure in Plex? The point here is, my friend has the same configuration of Fritzbox 6590 and Plex Server (Host system is Windows 10) and it works instant and very well.
I don’t know bsd but with Linux, you’ll need some ‘drivers’ (like windows).
I don’t do dvr/livetv so don’t understand tuners other than, for the USB tuners, the USB udev entries must be set (permissions). This could very well be all that’s required… “udev rules for the tuner” so that Plex can see and talk to it. I do not know. You will unfortunately need to google this one / check their web site. Key here is “udev”
The Fritzbox is a network router with sat over ip functionality. There is no dvb hardware directly attached to my freebsd box, so i would expect that there are no drivers needed.

The FritzBox 6490 works instant, the 6590 does not even show
Tvheadend find the 6590 in seconds with 4 SAT-IP Tuner … I would be happy, if plex also would be able to find the new 6590 box
the 6490 is working, the 6590 uses the same firmware, but is a slightly “newer” hardware revision. The 6490 is just a pretty common router supplied by the cable provider, so there is more support.
If someone with more knowledge could take a peek in it - it can’t be a big issue.
