Is the help section up to date about this? It says live TV only works on Android TV and IOS?
My Nvidia shield and android phones won’t work yet? As for my setup I use HD HomeRun Connect with PMS 1.7.2.3878 on an Intel NUC. I re-created my Tuner which it saw right away on my network, scanned the channels, and populated the Program Guide option. However, nowhere do I see “Live TV” even on my “admin” management account to tweak any settings, or on any of my devices. Should I be, or only the TVs and IOS is right? If so, Andoid expectancy? Thanks in advance.
Please ensure that your client and server are up to date. I do remember reading in here somewhere today (forgive my memory here) that some Shield users had to clear their cache in order to see this.
I was expecting the same, but with an updated PMS (windows) and using the latest iOS client, you click on the Program Guide on the home screen. You then select a program and you can live view or record. Once you realize this, it actually makes sense. Once you know

Here still nothing with PMS up to date with the 1.7.2.3878 release and Android App up to date ! I don’t see any Program Guide in Plex App in my Android device ! On web interface I still get only record (no play) but it’s not supposed to be supported for now in Plex web !!
Completely lost how you “activate” that feature … Very confusing PR and way feature is released…
@vincen Is that Android TV, or the Android mobile app? Currently only iOS and Android TV is supported. More platforms (including Android mobile) are coming.
Plex web doesn’t support live viewing at the moment, but again, it is coming

Oh damn didn’t pay attention at that detail Tried on Android not Android TV !! So looks like I have to wait to get it in Android and PMP and Plex Web Hope user management is coming very soon for that too
I had the same issue with my Android TV box (Xiaomi Mi Box 4K) and I didn’t see the LiveTV option until I restarted the Mi Box. Try restarting if it doesn’t show up for you! The new functionality looks great!
I found that manually downloading the current server version (1.7.2.3878 for Mac) worked, when I restarted my iOS app I could see the Recording Schedule and Program Guide on the Browse tab on the iOS App.
‘Check for updates’ doesn’t always work in the plex pass update channel.

Useless what you did Just delete/re-add your Tuner equipment in PMS should be enough
Yes I’ve tried rebooting and I’ve tried removing/re-adding the tuner, still no “Live TV” option. I can record and see the program guide correctly but that wasn’t ever an issue. Am using the manually installed version 1.7.2.3878 as well…
Don’t forget it’s only avalaible for now on Android TV (not regular Android) and ios! All others are still to get an update to get access at feature! So we have to bee patient…

Well I get that my cell phone (android) shouldn’t see it but my Nvidia Shield doesn’t either and I was told that should. And shouldn’t the management acct of Plex (through the web browser) at least be able to see it in the folder list to at least config the settings for the IOS and Android TV users?
I also can’t see any live TV options on either iOS or Android TV devices. My Plex server is recording shows just fine from my hdhomerun prime. My windows 10 Plex Server says it’s Version 1.5.5.3634 and that there are no new updates available and my Mi Boxes and iPhone all report they have the latest version of Plex installed.
You need to set your channel to ‘Plex Pass’ and it should update. The latest Plex Pass build is 1.7.2.3878 which has Live TV, the 1.5.5 build does not.
Are you saying there is some other version of the Plex media server available to Plex pass subscribers? I have no Plex pass channel anywhere that I can see, but I do have the Plex pass lifetime subscription. Thanks for any clarification.
Tried on Android not Android TV !! So looks like I have to wait to get it in Android and PMP and Plex Web 
Hope user management is coming very soon for that too
