Plex LiveTV - Canada?

Hello everyone

I am very interested in getting Plex LiveTV working for my Plex Server. Unfortunately, I currently live in Canada.

I have a CableTV package under Rogers that I would like to use but from all the videos that I’ve seen, you need a Cable Card from your provider to do this. All I have is an active cable service and a PVR from rogers.

I did some looking around and it does not appear that any of the cable service providers in Canada provide any Cable Cards…

Has anyone from Canada been able to get Plex LiveTV setup? If so, please explain how.

Thank you.

You won’t get CableCard in Canada to my knowledge. There is no requirement for our cablecos to provide it so they don’t.

I’m using Plex Live TV here but that’s against an OTA antenna.

how is the OTA working out?

Indoor or outdoor antenna?
Location?

Looking at that option myself

THanks

Go on tvfool.com, check your address to see what you can get. With tvfool you will also know the distance between you and the broadcast towers. Based on this info, you can choose the antenna type.

I live near Montreal and I get with an antenna in the attic arround 26 channels, all the major Canadian an us broadcasters.

I’m in Toronto and my antenna (multi-element Yagi) is installed in the garage. I pick up all the Toronto TV stations; as well as one Buffalo TV station - the CW channel (1000 Kw transmitter).
