Plex Loading Wrong Metadata

So I use Plex to store my WWE files, and I have the following file structure:

Plex however, comes out like this:

My Plex is set throughout to use themoviedb as it’s primary source for metadata, including on the library within Plex. The data for this is here:

However, thetvdb is using a different season format:

But Plex has completely messed it all up, and now I don’t know how to fix it. It should all be in Season 2, in episode order, but Plex has decreed that Episodes 11 & 12 are part of Season 2, and 1-10 are Season 3. On top of that, it has messed up the episode names, that were all changed manually & locked by me before this random change came in to effect, AND it has decided for itself which ones are watched and unwatched!

Does anyone know how to fix this behaviour at all? Happy to attach more screenshots of the server setup if necessary.

Thanks,
Dave

do you have local media assets enabled (seeing your pictures etc. in the folders I suppose the answer is yes) and “use embedded metadata” (in the advanced settings of that library)?
if so, check out if there’s embedded metadata in those mp4 files – if the embedded metadata contradicts the season/episode information of the file name, this might overrule the Plex scanner finding.

Hi,

Yes, Local Media assets are top of the list for every single agent. However, I don’t see an option for embedded metadata on the advanced settings of any of my libraries (movies, or programmes). But from what I can see, there is nothing embedded on the files themselves.

Also worth pointing out that this is only a recent change in behaviour - it was fine a week ago, and it only affects this one programme. What I don’t get is that it doesn’t seem to be correctly following either themoviedb, thetvdb or my local folder structure. Bizarre!

what happens if you remove the date section from the file name and re-scan?

Absolutely nothing changes unfortunately. Everything stays right where it is :s
