Server Version#: Last version of PMS hosted on a Linux Server
Player Version#: Last version of Plex client available on Google Play (Android TV)
I’m using last version of PMS.
From lots versions, the “secure mode connection” don’t grant my to use my own PMS server as a real local PMS server (I’ve bought lifetime PlexPass).
When i try now to connect my using https://mylocalserver.localdomain:32400/web
That need mandatory to use a complex authentication process - outside my local network hosted by Plex website.
I complete my authentication => a screen say ( sorry for the french translation):
"Plex Web
want to connect your plex account.
This application is MyPMShosname.PMSdomainname is not hosted by Plex. Continue if you know this server and want to grant it access.
An error expected during registration"
Retries are same with same error message…
Is it possible to retrive the “old StandAlone behaviour” that was using in the past that is:
A PMS server in my internal DMZ zone
A Plex client on my TV that consult and use file on my own network without any external connection.
Or if internet conexion is mandatory ( the same), why this authentication process did not grant my PMs server to distribute an only LOCAL service?
Thanks first for your answer.
Ok then no choice: Use secure mode.
Have lots of new issues since this “secure” mode.
My own PMS server hosted on a Local Linux server is no more accessible by
httpORhttps://mypmsserverfqdnname/web
When i try to authenticate me, that redirect me on https://app.plex.tv/ saying that my application mypmsserverfqdnname is not a hosted on Plex… to finally reject my authentication process.
My infrastructure is simple:
A Linux PMS server service set and runing, hosting local librairies
An paid lifetime account on Plex WebSite
A WIFI router that manage traffic beetween internet and DMZ zone.
What is the problem?
Since Secure mode lot of issues to only use local client to access to Local Plex Services…
