Running Latest Version on a 2020 Samsung Smart TV.
Please consider removing the animation when launching the app. It always stutters and seems to struggle. I assume this is a resource issue and thus it’s not needed. A static logo is more than fine for us please?
It may be unrelated but I note there were some performance improvements made in the Plex HTPC v1.2.0 release recently, so I don’t know if it was just coincidental, but the animation has also been running a lot smoother on both my The Frame 2019 and The Frame 2020 TVs since then as well
If it matters, I do not see stuttering from our Roku Ultra. Still, a static logo would be fine with me. I do like that there is no audio during launch. Another streaming app has a jingle that I am growing to hate.
So it is fine on one of your devices and not on the other? The last part of your reply didn’t make sense, sorry.
The point is, 1.) It doesn’t need to animate. and 2.) If my TV can decode 4k video and all that flawlessly, then it certainly has enough processing power to handle a logo animation. Given that this is troublesome on some devices and not others leads me to believe that some common framework is being use where in reality this sequence isn’t common but seemingly platform specific. It makes me wonder (i haven’t tried) if other elements of the UI are faulty as well given this occurrence. I feel like Plex Devs spend more time working the UI over actual functional problems within the core thus frustrating a lot of people.
Client Version 5.13.0
