Media is stored on Synology 1823 NAS connected via Cat6 and the drive is mounted to desktop of the MacOS for Plex to read.
The access to account is done via a Google Chrome web browser ( Version 138.0.7204.184 - Official Build x86_64).
Issue:
Latest update to the Plex server was completed on Sept 23, 2025
As of Sept 25, 2025 I tried to update or alter the background image for a TV series or Movie while adding new content. When an image was selected in the background menu screen or an image is dragged and dropped into the entry bar selection window, the Plex server looses connection to the NAS. This loss affects all devices showing there is no media to display.
To regain the connection, I must log out, then restart Plex Server and log back in.
I have been doing this operation since I discovered in 3 years ago with no issue. However, this issue only showed up after the latest update to my Plex Server. I though it was a problem caused by an image in the folder being added, yet that was not the issue. The same disconnection issue happens when selecting a populated image in the “Background” selection screen.
Has this happened to anyone else or is there a solution or reason for this odd behavior?
