Server Version#: 1.41.9.9961
Player Version#: 1.109.0.329-ea562b95
I have a WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra running firmware 5.31.102, with the Plex Media Server installed and running.
Everything was fine until Friday when I installed the latest firmware (1.41.9.9961) which caused the desktop player to be unable to locate the server and when I clicked configure on the app page in the WD Dashboard it came up with an error page.
I uninstalled that update and reinstalled the previous version which gave me the same results, tried installing the version in the WD app store to, yet again, get the same results. Tried installing and rebooting the NAS, uninstalled, rebooted and installed to get the same results.
Finally, I uninstalled the app, deleted all Plex data from the NAS via SSH (backed it up first) and reinstalled. Finally the desktop player picked up the server but I had to configure all my libraries again.
Currently, Plex is scanning all the libraries to add the files back in.
Throughout this process, it keeps coming up with a ‘server not found’, or similar, error. Once I reboot the NAS it is ok again for a while.
I am on Sky Broadband with port 32400 forwarded through the router and the desktop player is marked as an allowed app on the Windows Defender Firewall, I also have Avast Anti-Virus running on my Windows 11 machine.
Anyone have any ideas what could be going on?
