Plex just automatically upgraded to Version 1.45.0.3013-1676042f and can't connect to server!

When I opened Plex it automatically upgraded the media server and now Plex can’t see my media on my WD My Cloud Home NAS. I can see the files in Windows Explorer, so its not the NAS.
Has anyone had the same problem? How do I rectify?
Have rebooted computer and restarted Plex.
how can I restore my server?

There is no Plex server on a NAS connected to your Plex user account.
(at least the one you are using to access these forums)

So it might simply be signed into a different Plex account.
Can you reach the NAS using the plex web app?

Another possibility is that the Plex server on this WD MyCloud Home has ceased to work completely, as WD hasn’t accepted or published any update for the “Home” models on their app store.
If the existing Plex server installation on the NAS is still running, it might have gotten “too old” for modern Plex clients to communicate with.

I was just reminded that WD is currently pushing out a firmware update for these models. It is supposed to replace Android with Linux as operating system.

This is a very major update. I recommend you to leave the NAS running 24/7 during the next days, so it has plenty of time to perform the update and convert your existing settings etc. During the update, the NAS might not be fully accessible. Don’t interrupt it with power cycling or reboots.

Afterwards, you are supposed to go into the NAS configuration and re-enable the Plex server.
(at least that’s what I’m told. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with these NAS devices myself.)

Sorry! I did not make it clear the server is installed on Windows 10 PC and not on the NAS.
As I said I can connect to the NAS where my media files are stored, so I don’t think it is a problem with the NAS. I purchased the NAS within the last 2 years.
I just tried re-installing Plex, but I did that without removing the previous install. I realise that was a bad move, so I am going to un-install completely.
I will update the post when I have tried that.

The server on your Windows machine hasn’t been “seen” by plex.tv for several weeks. Is it possible that is has already been failing for some time?
