Plex + MacOS: Goes to sleep while streaming

Player Version#: smartTV latest

Does anyone have a reason why this could be occurring.

Scenario

  • playing content locally from the macOS Plex server to the smarttv
  • this works perfectly fine for an hour or so
  • then (not exact time) going a good part into the move like the last 30 minutes left
    • Plex movie playback stops on smart tv
  • the culprit. the macOS Plex server has gone to sleep.
    • fix just wake the server up
  • this does occur repeatedly.

Issue:

  • why didn’t the server go to sleep in the first hour or so where if the macOS as a server
    • easy to point out the macOS but if anything would happen the sleep time would be 15 minutes or so not hour.

Lets hope that the only solution isn’t why don’t you upgrade to the latest PMS.

I’m not sure if it would resolve your specific issue (there’ve been a lot of fixes in the intervening nearly two years since 1.41.3 was released). But there’s a very good reason to upgrade…
