Something strange is going on. My recordings of local stations has recently stopped playing through Plex like it use to . I can play the .ts files in Quicktime but all the files are now unreadable from the web player, my apple TV app, or my Samsung smart TV app. It at one time worked on ALL players. I didn’t change anything server side other than Plex updates . I’ve been all over the dashboard looking for a setting and for the life of me I dont see what changed .
No changes that should cause that behavior. I’ve also seen no other reports about issues with recorded media.
Mind sharing with what specific version of Plex Media Server you’re recording those videos and with what specific players (platform, version) they fail to play?
Does the issue persist after rebooting the server?
Sorry it took me a while to respond. After reading your questions it dawned on me that I had not rebooted the server in a while . I just finished a reboot and the same thing happens . Keep in mind that I make very few changes on my unraid servers unless something goes wrong. The TV recordings do not play in any of my players. Web, Apple TV, and Samsung smart TV app . They use to play without issue. The reason I know that is that I record the 5 and 10 o’clock news and then have anything older than 5 days auto purge . I hadnt watched the news in a while and went to look at something a week ago and noticed that it wasnt playing on any of the layers. I did go into the share and play the video file in quick time . One thing that may have been the difference, is that when I set this all up I was using binhex plex and durring an update the container got all jacked up so moved to the .io linux version , Package plex · GitHub . Not really sure if that had anything to do with it, but it looks like the scheduler is still working and it is recording all the programs as it should. Just cant play the files .
