Hi I am trying to refresh my library as a lot of shows are stuck and not updating to the latest episode added, Is there an easy way to do this so the server refreshes and puts shows back in order
If you run a scan of a library it should be scanning all folders that make up that library. Have you checked the latest files you added have the correct permissions for Plex to see them?
You might need to adjust the permissions on the root directories of your library and set those permissions to be inheriting, so when you add new files to it they automatically get set to be accessible by Plex, too.
This has happened before on a previous server, where I deleted Plex and then reinstalled it, Films and shows get stuck at the top regardless of whether a new one has been added after, this time there are about 20 shows stuck at the top.
I removed all the shows out of the folders and rescanned it removed about 30% but 70% remained in the Plex library but when you played one it would say file not in location.
I moved on out now to see if it would remove and it has, I may have to do this for each one individually.

Even when I have moved the files out of the folder Plex is still not updating the library to remove those titles out. Still showing displayed

Looks like its choking on /share/CACHEDEV7_DATA/Usenet6/TV Shows/The Apprentice UK 2005 I did see a lot of network related timeouts.
Yes that’s one of the shows that is stuck, the first one in the order, is there a solution as to to stop that
I am also seeing some 429 error messages. Turn off Plex for 30 minutes, so it stops hammering the servers with failed attempts.
Ok I’ve done that I’ll give it an hour.
Seems to be behaving itself now, moved all the stuck shows out of the folders and Plex has now removed so no longer visible. Should I now move them back in and then check if a new episode goes back to the top?
It’s worked new episodes back to the top in order thanks for the help really appreciated, I’m Sure it was the stopping Plex for 30 Mins, that seemed to calm it down it was just constantly scanning
