Plex Media Player 3.0 feedback

Dya know what?

I find the silence quite telling! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

imma let the engineers speak for themselves and not get in the middle here; i know they’re working on some updates.

@elan to avoid any confusing from the end user side could you be specific ? At least to me its not clear.

Do the updates you reference above relate to PMP (Plex Media Player) or for Plex for Mac and Windows (Plex for Mac and Windows) ?

In all honesty this is all we wanna know!

Although one could at the very least take from this that ā€œsomething is happeningā€ rather than a flat out ā€œnothing is happeningā€

@OttoKerner perhaps you can clarify things?
I really think that clear communication is the key here.

I asked this yesterday and later the came back with a one word comment, CORRECT.

I feel like we’ve being trolled!

Patience is key here, I have no affiliation with Plex as I am only a longtime user however I can understand the engineers cannot code updates and deliver it 24/7. I’ve been using PHT for more than a decade and that works. PMP v2 and v3 both work (sluggish) however we will just need the patience for them to properly code it into a decent build. A rush job isn’t the answer.

This’ll do for me. It’s a carrot, but it’ll do  :+1:

I agree…

We just had the man confirm my summary above…

And as I said a moment ago… That’ll do Donkey, that’ll do :+1:

What I find stunning is that Plex Media Player as it currently is right now, is still way better than all the streaming box apps.

Purchased an Apple TV 4k to see if I was missing something, and nope! Plex Media Player on the Mac Mini is still 1,000 times better. The audio won’t even stay in Sync on the Apple TV 4K which makes it infuriating to use.

So @elan the HTPC is still your most powerful and versatile client. I strongly recommend keeping that working and running because every streaming box I’ve tried encounters some problem sooner or later.

Cool… :+1:

I totally agree. The Plex Media Player on a Home Theater PC is still the best platform/player out there!

I am looking forward to whatever fixes and updates that are in the works are coming out. Hopefully sooner than later!

Have the thread bookmarked now, looking forward to seeing some updates from the plex team (soon), hoping to see a working pmp for the home theater, agree with everyone here, no streaming box in the home theater, just the htpc with harmony remote.

I am glad you like carrots :joy: but i would have liked more  and what did they really say?
But i also will be patient and hope the honor their word and hope to see some PMP updates in the near future.

Importantly, they didn’t say ā€œnothing is going to happenā€, and for me, for now, that’ll do.

@axemanuk666 they also said :

So which is it?

But maybe i just don’t like carrots in the first place.
I’ll just wait and hope Plex Inc. will not disappoint.

Yes, but the confirmation came from Elan… And I’m not sure if you know, but he’s the man.

In other words, it came direct from the horses mouth :slightly_smiling_face:

So lets give em some time and see what bubbles… :+1:

I really like bubbles  so why didn’t you start with that!
And i only read his title here on the forum and didn’t know he was THE MAN.
