PLEX Media Player additional feature

Hi, Ive been a PLEX user for sveral years now and very impressed with features. My one request is for the Media Player and that a “Cast to” option would be very useful for me in TV mode. The reason I ask this is that I have a severely disabled step son who uses Eyegaze technology to access a tablet. Normally Using a programme called GRID3 it has a very similar grid layout that you use in TV mode and we have managed to use the Sotware in Grid3 to force a basic TV remote on one side of the screen ie. up down etc… This is now allowing him to access plex unaided but limits the video to play onscreen rather than casting to his TV.

I have been with my patrtner for 8 years now and living with a person who has a complex need is very difficult and so far PLEX TV mode is almost perfectly suited to those with limited abilities as can be navigated through different input methods. I would assume as it is already an option in the media server it wouldn’t be impossible to have a button to activate screencast and this would potentially help a largely ignored market of people who rely on technology to access videos.

Thanks for a great product.

David.

To be clear, you want o cast from PMP in TV mode to our Smart TV client?

Since you are running PMP, I assume this is a Windows tablet? Have you tried running the Plex for Windows app from the Store. It’s outdated but runs a somewhat grid layout and can be used to cast to our Smart TV app.

Hi. Currently I use chromecast to cast from various android devices (we ha e 6 kids) to various TVs. I know the plex for windows app doesn’t work with chromecast.
But I was trying to get the pmp to cast to the TV via chromecast.

I’ve looked at the windows version and it’s just slightly too complicated compared the the pmp version. The simplicity is what makes it good for disabled. Although making the video icons slightly bigger would also be beneficial.

Any ideas on how to easily cast the screen?
