It is possible to define the panscan value in the mpv.conf file, but doing so every single time you want to watch something gets absolutely tedious.
Can we PLEASE have it as an option in the player settings when playing? Or even as a pr. show/season/episode setting that is stored on the file itself.
Clearly the possibility is there with the MPV player which is used in most clients by now - but manually editing config files is absolutely daft…
Have you tried Plex HTPC instead of Plex Media Player?
Based on 21:9 support in Plex HTPC , it seems to be supported (scroll to end of thread).

It only worked in 1.0.0. It no longer works.
Hell, getting the ability to use MPV Scripts would solve the issue, since there are auto-crop scripts out there like GitHub - Ashyni/mpv-scripts but for some reason scripts doesn’t work with PMP’s MPV… sigh
