Plex Media Player crashes and displays weird popup

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2438-f342a5a43
Player Version#: 1.6.3.1009-57cf57c8

Just recently when opening Plex Media Player on my Windows 10 laptop, the program appears to crash, and subsequently opens a weird pop up box with the text “Governor’s Court.” See below:

I can’t close the window or app and have to force close in task manager.

Has anyone else seen this issue? Any ideas? I’ve already uninstalled the program and reinstalled, and that didn’t seem to help.

That’s not Plex Media Player
That’s Plex For W/M.
Newer than the Version I have (public).

Unless that’s a new ‘feature’ in testing - it’s probably the virus/malware/kooties/Facebook/etc., on your laptop capitalizing on an opportunity to throw a popup when PfW/M crashes… or something.

But… I hope I don’t start seeing those or there will be trouble.

Governor’s Court could be:
Cheap Bathtub Gin
or
Some swanky condos in your area.

I wouldn’t advise checking out either.

Ignore the above, please.

Uninstall all “Codec Packs” you might have on your computer.
Download and install https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases
Reboot
Try again.

I uninstalled the program, and then went to reinstall today, and all of a sudden it’s working again…and I found out what that attached image was being generated from…it was from a TV show file (ending credits) that I have on Plex that I must have been watching…
