Did you try searching this forum? There’s multiple threads on embedded on the first page of this forum before you even need to search.
My build guide, later in the thread other people post builds for download: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/313204/build-plex-media-player-embedded-2-x-for-the-raspberry-pi-2-3/p1

I don’t think the updated builds you linked actually work on the Pi 3B+ though.

The 3B+ needs firmware fixes from a newer version of librelec.tv than the plex repository is using. Without them you don’t get past the rainbow splash startup screen.

THIS.

I need this too. My primary reason for buying a rpi3b+ is plex…

#6

My apologies, I’d forgotten that the build would need updating for the Raspberry Pi 3+.
I don’t have one, but I’ve put the builds in the Community Builds of Plex Media Player Embedded 2.x for the Raspberry Pi 2/3[+] and friends thread with the others. I don’t have a 3+ so haven’t tested this build, I’ve only just built it and uploaded it, not even tested it on a Pi 3 yet.

#7

Nice - I’ll give that a go later.

Update: Works perfectly - thanks!

Amazing! Thank you.

Hi all. I’m new to this. Is there a timeframe (or ETA) for the Pi3B+ PMP?
Thanks

#10

Officially, probably not.

Update: This release is highly crash/freeze prone. Several times a day I have to power cycle the Pi as it gets stuck on blacks screens.

#11

we have released test builds. they are not official yet, because they still need a few things fixed.

But you can check those still : https://nightlies.plex.tv/public-test/plexmediaplayer/embedded-testing/

#12

@LongChair Will the test builds auto-update to newer test & eventually release automatically?

#13

Not until they are finally released.
They will get updated in the same place.

#14

@LongChair OK - Do the PMP builds require or take advantage of purchasable hardware decoding for the Pi (https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/new-video-features/) ?

#15

I think it should, seems like we support hw decoding for MPEG2 when available.

I tried the latest one: (https://nightlies.plex.tv/public-test/plexmediaplayer/embedded-testing/2.9.0.847-b1acec41/PlexMediaPlayer-2.9.0.847-b1acec41.RPi2-arm.img.gz) and it is just stuck at boot on the rainbow screen.

Which one of those works?

#17

Same problem here, latest build stuck on the rainbow screen with rpi 3b+

#18

@kapiszon53 @Xen0sys: i just made a quick rebase on LE 8.2.5 and it is available on https://nightlies.plex.tv/public-test/plexmediaplayer/embedded-testing/.
I don’t have a RPI3B+ myself to test it, so any feedback on this build would be greatly appreciated
