Plex Media player for Windows Desktop

I have installed both Plex Media Player for Windows (in Windows 10 latest version) and the Plex app from Windows store.
When playing videos with local subtitles (.srt files) in Plex app from store, subtitles are fine , but the same video in Plex Media Player displays strange characters (the .srt file is UTF-8 encoded). Why this different behavior?

Where did you download your subtitles from? If it was from Opensubtitles, it’s possible they contain wrong encoded advertisements for their site. Also, what version of PMP are you using?

Subtitles must have correct encoding, so the Windows 10 UWP version is OK with them.
The version that I am using with problem, is “PlexMediaPlayer-2.1.1.703-79cdfa5c-windows-x64”
