Halow.

Crashes every day during maintenance continue. Tonight, I remove credit detection from all libraries advanced tab as researched could be a cause and hope for change.

Halow.

I report.

This morning my pc has not crashed and no reports or Plex Media Scanner crash post maintenance.

Hyylo.

Any update on if it safe to enable back credit detection?

Have you enabled credit detection yet?
I’ve ran into the same problem - and an old .avi movie is causing the problem at mine server - but no solution on my side yet without disabling credit detection

Try re-encoding the file, if the AVI file was damaged it would explain what is happening. @PlexHS1 can you upload current logs? the one I saw was 6 months old, and several versions old too.

Rookie mistake from my side…
2 files that was corrupt, removed those and the scanner runs smoothly again - thank you for the tips

A corrupt file shouldn’t cause the scanner or worst yet machine crash, it should be handled.

haylo

i have not enabled again in fear

any luck with others?

I agree on that - but I’m not a Plex Developer (or a developer at all), so I just did what I needed to to get the problem sorted

I found a lead to the first file that kept my Plex Scanner crash in the error log files from Plex.
Take a look and see if you maybe have the same issue as me?
That there is one or more files that makes the scanner crash?
