After upgrade to 1.16.1 and re-configuring DVR and OTA HDHomerun tuners, I rescheduled all the recordings because the station ID names changed in the new EPG. Now, even though some of the shows are “scheduled to record” in the DVR guide, they are not showing up on the recording schedule. I’ve noticed that most of the shows that aren’t showing up in the record schedule have generic titles like “morning news.” These shows use the same titles but have specific times like morning news 4:00 am, morning news 5:00 am, 6:00 am, etc. There are no specific series or episode numbers in the guide. I thought maybe they were being skipped because they were interpreted as repeat shows, but I specified “new and repeat shows” and that didn’t help. Needless to say, I’m not happy with the move to another EPG source. It’s not working for me.
If your recording rules are set to ‘HD only’, then they will likely not record because the EPG data doesn’t have HD tags set, see responses to my post: HD recording scheduling fail with 1.16.1.1246
Short term workaround is to set recordings to ‘prefer HD’ and then manually set the channel preference if you care about getting HD.
I’m having the same exact problem, and no I do not have “HD Only” set. I do have “record new episodes only set” and have noticed the new EPG is messing up and labeling new shows as episodes from the past, so I suspect that may be part of the issue.
The new EPG is labeling all the morning news shows on the ABC station in Detroit “2019-Episode 1” and PLEX won’t record anything. We should have the option of using other guide services, like Schedules Direct. I’ve had to switch to Emby instead.
When will this be resolved? NBC Evening News is still labeled with wrong / past dates and, CBS Morning News is labeled as CBS Evening News.
