Plex-Media-Server 1.3.3.3148 won't reinstall. Help!

My Infrastructure: W10 versie 1607 build 14393.693 on I7-4790 with plenty of disk.
Due to reshuffling data on my system I DE installed Plex. Next I manually deleted all date in every map containing “Plex”. The last step was cleaning the register.
The reinstall of Plex-Media-Server 1.3.3.3148-b38628e is a matter of seconds. However the Launch button on the last install window does not work and in the map Program Files(x86) there is no map containing “Plex” in the name.
I probably deleted a bit too much, but I have no clue what it was that I still needed.
In the map C:\Users<user>\AppData\Local\Temp I found a Plex Media Server_20170112112515.log, but it is abracadabra to me.
Anybody any idea how so solve this without reinstalling W10 again?

What actually happens when you launch Plex Media Server ?
What processes show up in windows task manager with names starting with Plex ? screenshot?
Does this exist C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Media Server.exe
Could you export this registry areas to text file and see if there is LocalAppDataPath values ?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
and
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server

Could you try repair through add or remove programs
and when looking for logs for install - look for a cluster of log files that get created round the same time

What actually happens when you launch Plex Media Server ?
Simply said: nothing happens. The last Plex install window with the Launch button is still there.

No. It does not exist.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
These do not exist.

and HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server
Neither do these exist.

I see 4 of them. They are attached oldest first.

are there no logs in between ? could you sort the folder by date / time and look at it

We have 3 logs at 16:39 (covering period 16:39:24 to 16:39:30 and they are for an attempted uninstall of Plex Media Server
This completed ok with some return codes in the log showing product not present

Then we have one log file at 18:16:29 for an attempted install. This is about 95 minutes after

When was the repair done ?

could you use the Microsoft Fix It which is the Install / Uninstall troubleshooter to uninstall
Look for
Plex Media Server
pms.exe
pmsshutdown

Link to the Microsoft fix it

I used Microsoft Fix It after installation of Plex however in neither list can I find anything like PLEX or PMS. So nothing changes.

I did the following: Installed Plex, Repaired Plex and de-installed Plex. Attached are all the logs.

I hope this gives you a clue?

The Plex Media Server installer / uninstaller is detecting presence of a pms package yet the Microsoft troubleshooter Fix It is not.

So some registry entry somewhere is saying the package is present. Then when we uninstall, there is a an indication of some packages not being there - the extra log lines Attempted to uninstall absent package: pms. Continuing...

Could you get me some exports of registry / package info and zip and send me by Private Message

Could you start a command line window (elevated - run as administrator) - so start / run / cmd and right click and select Run As Administrator and then type these commands

wmic /output:"%localappdata%\wmic_product_list_2017-Jan-26a.txt" product get Name, Version, IdentifyingNumber, InstallDate

and then

wmic /output:"%localappdata%\wmic_qfe_list_2017-Jan-26a.txt" qfe list full

Zip the output files

C:\Users\hansv\AppData\Local\wmic_product_list_2017-Jan-26a.txt
C:\Users\hansv\AppData\Local\wmic_qfe_list_2017-Jan-26a.txt

Then do these registry exports to text files - so in each case selecting Save As Type : Text File

Using RegEdit.exe, export the following areas and saving as text files (not registry files but text)

Export this to text file HKLM_Installer_2017-Jan-26a.txt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer

Export this to text file HKLM_Uninstall_2017-Jan-26a.txt
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Export this to text file HKCR_Installer_2017-Jan-26a.txt
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer

Export to text file HKCU_Installer_2017-Jan-26a.txt
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Installer

Zip the 4 text files and send me the 2 zip by Private Message

The next thing to try after that is the free version of Revo Uninstaller to see if it can remove it completely to allow a new install

I downloaded Revo and installed Plex.
Next I used Revo to uninstall Plex en do a thorough search and clean-up. The clean-up deleted a lot of stuff from the registry.
Next installed Plex again and guess what?
PLEX WORKS AGAIN!!! Right now it is building the libraries.

I do not know how to thank you, you were of great help!!!

Kind regards,
