Plex Media Server 1.9.7.4441 stop playing 2 to 5 minutes early

Plex stop playing 2 to 5 minutes before the shows end.
I uninstall latest version 1.9.7.444 and install 1.9.6.4401 and its working ok, it docent stop.
Plex Madia Server for Windows 10 and I use Roku 3.

I too have noticed this using Roku 3 v5.0.5 on PMS 1.9.7.4441
I just tried on a test Roku 2 XS (same plex version 5.0.5)
Just tried on Plex Web, no issue.
Just tested on an older (10.x.x) ios device, it plays full video.
@ljunkie - Invoking your name as this might be a combined Roku/ PMS 1.9.7 issue.

EDIT -
The roku can fast foward past the point of normal playback failure, showing the index images, but as soon as play is selected, it stops back to info screen.

I was able to work around this issue by disabling hardware acceleration ( server -> transcoder -> Use hardware acceleration uncheck) and then rebooting the server.

Server: Intel Core i5-2500 Win 7 Pro SP1
Roku 3

@bschreder - I do not have hardware transcoding enabled.
The video I’m testing on is only 1m07s total length.

I just tested in Plex “classic” for Roku 2 XS. Doesn’t occur in Plex classic.
So definitely seem to be a (Win?) PMS 1.9.7 and Roku 5.0.5 issue.
(Haven’t tested android yet)

I rolled my server back to the previous version of plex, no reboot, hw decide still enabled, problem went away.

There is an issue with 1.9.7.4441 beta release which is affecting roku and chromecast streaming of mkv files and ending the playback a minute or so before the end (the transcoder throttle buffer). There are a number of forum threads on this

Until a fix is released, you can downgrade to the public release 1.9.6.4429 available from https://plex.tv/downloads

On windows to downgrade, you must uninstall 1.9.7.4441 through control panel / add or remove programs before installing 1.9.6.4429

Turn “OFF” “Plex Pass Downloads” on that page to get the non plex pass latest version.

The hotfix for the early exit when playing transcoded media is now available as Plex Pass Beta Release 1.9.7.4460
