Plex Media Server Constantly Crashing

My PMS has been crashing constantly - about 2-3 minutes after I load it up. This has been happening for about a week or more now. I’ve rolled back a Windows update to an older one (before the constant crashes). And I’ve updated my PMS to v1.18.2.2029-36236cc4c. I’ve attached my log from PMS, after I restarted after a crash, and before the next inevitable one. Any help would be appreciated… Please?

Hi. Was this problem ever resolved for you? I have been running Plex Server on Windows10 for a VERY long time with no issues. However, just recently (after the last Server update) my server crashes constantly!! I have the most current version, and NOTHING else has changed on my system. Same internet provider … same modem … same computer I have always had. I even tried the repair utility and deinstalled/re-installed. At first, it acts like everything is OK, then a day late …, it has crashed again!

Just wondering if you ever resolved and if so … how did you do it?

I had the exact same issues as you. But answers from Plex? Nothing. Nada. Even after they said we could only upload server logs to a new forum message.

FYI, I ended up moving my server to another machine. Not ideal, but okay for now.

I have a very similar issue. My Plex Media Server would crash on my Win 10 computer as soon as I start streaming. I painstakingly searched for possible conflict DLL file from this page: https://support.plex.tv/articles/206910047-windows-repeated-crashes-of-plex-media-server/. However, none of those DLL files exist on my computer.

Note: Plex Server doesn’t crash if I don’t stream anything, but that defeats the whole purpose of using Plex.

Well, PAY ATTENTION PLEX TEAM ! Something has definitely changed since last few updates!!! I had been considering getting a Plex Pass but now I’m so frustrated that I’m looking into other media servers. I mean, Plex has the best interface & setup BUT who cares if it stops working all the time !? I did try removing all traces of Plex off my PC then reinstalled one more time on a clean run … but then it wouldn’t even bring the media server up again !! Frustrating!!!

Just looked at your logs above - your crash was fixed in this release 1.18.4.2164

Anyone getting crashes, please ensure you do not disable debug logging on the server and that you have crash reporting enabled in server settings

Following a crash, restart the server and collect the logs zip and attach here

In case there are issues with crash reports uploading, look for dmp files within the Plex Media Server Crash Reports folder for the version of Plex Media Server
