I have 2 Plex servers. One is on my DroboN52 which was my original intention, but it is too slow to hold and index my massive libraries. In fact it struggles with just my music library. So I purchased an i5 Windows 10 16gb ram computer to run my video library. Transcodes content smoothly, and can push 5+ streams with no problem. I am very happy with it, EXCEPT plex server hangs all the freaking time. When it does this it doesn’t actually crash as the program is still running, but it goes offline everywhere, even local to the box. I have to login and close the application in the system tray and restart it. It becomes discover-able again instantly and I go on my merry way. It can go from a few hours to a few weeks between restarts. I have noticed that it has never hung while it is running a stream. Odd thing is the Drobo is slow but is always available. Is this because of too many libraries or the library size? External hardware going to sleep? Any ideas would be very appreciated.
