Plex Media Server Crashes Overnight Since Update: 1.30.1.6483

Server Version#: 1.30.1.6497
Player Version#:

Ever since updating to 1.30.1.6483 I have woke every morning to a crashed server. Restarting PMS from within the QNAP interface solves. I have since upgraded to 1.30.1.6497 which has not fixed the problem.

Best I can do is provide logs every morning I discover it not running. Any other suggestion for steps appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue, but I am running PMS on a Windows 11 pc.

Server version: 1.30.1.6497.

This crash has been every morning, and sometimes through the day.

In PMS, I have the “Send crash reports to Plex” box checked.

As I am writing this, it’s crashed twice.

Happening here as well

I have also seen where people are saying the hardware acceleration of the graphics card, i s broken with an previous update. Perhaps that could be a player here?

I wish there was an easier way to get this kind issue reported to plex support directly.

Same issue here on Synology (x64 DSM6). I updated on Tuesday evening and it’s crashed every night during scheduled tasks since then. The issue is happening on both 1.30.1.6483 and 1.30.1.6497.

Windows 10
Rolling back to 1.30.0.6486 stopped the crashes for me.

Hello everybody,
The last version of Plex (PlexMediaServer-1.30.0.6486-629d58034-x86_64_DSM6 )
doesn’t work with the last version of DSM (7.1.1-42962 Update 3). I’ve got this message (this packet need dsm 7.0-40000 or older) :

have you a solution to this ?

Sorry it was the wrong version of Plex. i think it will be fine with this version PlexMediaServer-1.30.1.6497-5fc2e0894-x86_64_DSM7

Same here for me. I have mine running as a truenas jails.

I turned off hardware acceleration to see if it still crashes over night.

Another crash for me overnight. Traveling so I can’t get logs.

I also rolled back to 1.30.0.6486 and the issue is resolved now.

Also is crashing to me. Synology DSM7 server. Crashing constantly with 1.30.1.6497.
I want to downgrade or rollback to the previous version but what is the procedure?
Because it gives me this message

Logs.zip (5.1 MB)Same issue on synology nas. seems to shut down overnight, perhaps during maintenance? Logs attached
update 12-19-22 additional logs
Logs.zip (5.2 MB)

I optimized my database yesterday hoping that might stop the issue. No dice.

Today’s logs:
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-12-19_07-32-25.zip (3.9 MB)

for me minimum 5 time/day crashes
Plex people please do something or tell me the procedure to downgrade.

Same here. Installed PMS 1.30.1.6497 on QNAP NAS and now every morning clients are not able to connect but the server shows still running. Have to stop and restart to correct. Happening every day now.

I noticed since update to 1.30.0.6486-6000 (DSM 6.2.4) that player on Samsung TV QN95B become very slugish. When I start plex on TV there are running circles for all shared folder for 15 seconds.

Yup multiple crashes a day. Super frustrating.

@ChuckPa Is it out of order to call someone in to take a look at this? If so, apologies for doing so.

ALL

It’s NOT out of order to call someone out.

I’m VERY sorry for not having seen this.

Is this 1.30.1 specific ?
Is it QNAP specific ?

MAJOR QUESTION: Are all of you using Tidal ?
