Plex Media Server 1.30.1.6497 keeps crashing and restarting

Recently updated to Plex Media Server 1.30.1.649 and now it keeps crashing and restarting on its own weather or not something is being streamed or not. This appears to happen around every ten minutes based on what i see from syslog below.

I checked for a crash report in the location mentioned in the syslog message, but there is no dmp file in that location.

Found the crashed reports, they are being put in /tmp and not in the location referenced

Back down from 1.30.1. Confirm everything stabilizes

We cannot read Crash Report files. Engineering can.
The main part of the DMP has already been sent (if you have reporting enabled)

Sounds good, just wanted to make there wasn’t anything else to capture before i did that as it has been a while since reporting anything for me. Thanks!

Seems 1.30.1 “has a few issues”.

I would recommend 1.29.2 (or anything you have stable & older) until after everyone returns in January

1.30.1.6483 seems ok. I hit this exact crash on 1.30.1.6497. Also not a Tidal user.

EDIT: Was not ok, going back to 1.30.0.6486

Yeah i rolled back to 1.30.0.6486 and so far have been fine.

To catch the Segfault

  1. Disable (Settings - Server - General - Show Advanced) - Send crash reports.
  2. Next day, check “Plex Media Server/Crash Reports” for .dmp files
  3. Zip them up with logs please
  4. Attach here

The dump shows the crash within Scheduled Tasks Loudness Analysis for a music album
This will be fixed in Plex Media Server 1.30.2 and occurs if the database has an entry missing for the album in one of the tables

If you send me a zip of the the database (download through Plex Web Settings / Server / Troubleshooting / Download Database, I can identify the music tracks causing the problem and you can then remove and add by going through the steps here Plex Dance

My DB file is over 30MB (68MB) so unable to upload it here, any other preferred method to provide it?

you would need to upload the zip externally if too big eg Google Drive / Dropbox and send link by PM
