Plex Media Server Crashes Overnight Since Update: 1.30.1.6483

Same issue here as well. Been running PMS on QNAP for years without issue. Then, after the last update, wake every morning and have to restart PMS. Then it works fine until the next morning.

Same issue here on Synology. This plex server is only used for music. I’ve disabled loudness analysis and hopefully it’ll remain running overnight. Version is 1.30.1.6497.

Another morning crash for me. This has been super consistent.

I’m going to try turning these two things off to see what that does. Might speed up the process.

I’m 90% sure it’s Loudness. It certainly looks that way in my logs and then I turned it off last night and Plex made it through the night for the first time in a week or more.

Turned loudness back on last night, server dropped just as the scheduled tasks got started.

So there’s your culprit.

Continues to lose connection daily like clock work.

I ended up removing my music library altogether and my server didn’t crash so it’s definitely an audio issue. Looks like it’s definitely the loudness analysis though.

Where can I find the loudness setting? Not seeing it anywhere.

Thank you!

Mine crashed at 4 am when my scheduled tasks are set to run. I’m running in unRaid Docker.

Turned off loudness analysis yesterday and today the server is still up. I

My Windows 10 server was also crashing but it was related to the hardware acceleration setting in transcoding. I’ve had that setting turned on for years and it’s worked great. Only with a recent update in the past week or so has it been a problem. Anytime a video was played with hardware transcode on the computer would lock up with a black screen and would have to force power off/on. I turned hardware acceleration off and now no problems. Recent update broke it. But it looks like OP might be caused by a different issue.

I have a successfully functioning server this morning! I’m going to turn Analyze Sonic Features back on but leave Loudness off to confirm.

@ChuckPa, I think we found the trouble maker.

Having same issue using 1.30.1.6497 on M1 iMac. Server crashes overnight every night while performing music analysis. Downgrading to older PMS resolves the issue so it’s specific to this version.

Still up here after turning off Analyze audio.

Thank you so much @AmazingRando24 and @Raazer

Outstanding.

I’ve been working by adding features but you got there first.
