For the past few weeks Plex Media Server has been intermittently crashing. Can be multiple times a day, or be fine for a couple of days. (Doesn’t seem to be on a particular schedule).
When I say crashing, we’ll just go to use it and it will require me to start the app again as it’s not running. (Then it will be a few minutes before the Chromecast app establishes communication).
Have done a decent search of the forums, and can’t see anything that particularly matches.
Did the ‘Plex Dance’ that I found, hasn’t fixed.

Figured that memory was an obvious candidate given it’s only got 1GB - but can’t see anything that indicates that specifically. Nothing in the Synology logs suggests that.
Oh interesting. Kinda good to know it’s not just me I guess.
Just noting that for me it’s never stopped in the middle of active use, just when someone goes to use it it’s sometimes just not running (which doesn’t make me very popular ). But that could just be luck as well I suppose.
Same issue here. I have my Synology 918+ and then a friends 918+ that I help manage. Both running Plex media server. My friend’s seem’s to crash more frequently than mine, but I still experience the issue from time to time. Plex Media Server Logs_2022-03-20_13-26-26.zip (5.7 MB)
@ChuckPa, I have seen a few posts on this issue from the past year, but have not seen anything specific yet as to why this could be happening (unless I speed read right over one of the posts). Any ideas?
Good to know. I was curious if a fresh install would fix it… Let me know if you experience the issue again.
I will test that out on mine before repeating on my friends.
