If you guys are interested I found a work around while they fix this issue, I run an app called “restart on crash”, and set it to restart the service when it crashes and works like a charm.
really easy to set up, just make shure to start as administrator.
Place the app in your %AppData% folder and configure to start on init
I came here looking for a solution and what worked for me was to clear the ‘App data and cache’. You can do this by going to ‘Settings’ → ‘Apps’ → ‘Storage’ → ‘Clear Data’.
Ok this is clearly a thing, I had problem with my Plex servers in the last few months, with it been unstable for no reason (with only a few people connected) and since I asked everyone using the Android app to uninstall / reinstall I don’t have the problem anymore.
Did the android team have any update on this? i suspect i still have a few users with Bugged Android versions and i have no mean to block it…
On the symptom side the first thing that stop working on the server when a faulty client is connected is the API. The dashboard and tautuli stop working.
Unfurtunatly nothing usefull on the logs…
I’m running PMS on Windows 10 and the Plex Player 8.13.1.23036 on Android 7.1.2.
The player app will crash every time I click on the X against a music track in the Now Playing window. It’s safe to press Pause then to select a different track to play just so long as I don’t try to stop the current track first by clicking X.
Clicking >I the next track button also works OK.
I’ve tried using Force Stop on the app and clearing Cache & Data before uninstall and reinstall but the present install is the best working I can get.
