PLEX Media server fails to install on W10 machine - version 1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59-x86

HI, I hope you can help…I ahve been a PLEX annual pass member for 5 years now and have recently had to change PC’s for my PLEX server. My current machine has Stablebit disk pool installed - this is my “H” drive and is 6TB total size. Now 1st install PLEX tried to install to “H” (i hadn’t changed any installation options) but i got the message that the the drive was full. Checked via Windows file browser and it shows “full” so I tried again and set the install location to my “C” drive - 42GB free. Again it failed as it was trying to install a .MSI file to H again. So how do I fix this issue? Thanks for any help you can give me,
Mark

Hi, I’m assuming you restarted and such before trying to reinstall again. I’m not a windows user and don’t know much of anything about stable bit disk pools. I’m going to make this public and I will see if I can find someone who may know more.

Don’t install plex on the stable bit drive pool. Or at least do not put the data files from plex on the drive pool. Media is fine though.

As for why it is trying to install to your H: drive, I’m not sure. Try:
Click “Manage Pool”, then “Drive letter”, then click the “OK” button on the popup to disassociate the pool with a drive letter.
Install again. Once plex is installed, then go back and re-enable the H: drive again.

Hello! I’m running Windows 10 Pro & Plex Media Server (Lifetime Pass) on a 1 TB WD SSD (with other SSDs for “live tv” recordings & music). In the past, I have not had problems installing the PMS updates. However, I cannot get 1.24.5.5173 to stay updated. I have restarted the PC, but the “server update arrow” continues to display. It acts like it is downloading it & updating it, but it doesn’t. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
