Unable to reinstall server to new drive

My drive where Plex was installed has died. I would now like to re-install Plex Media Server to another drive.
I have downloaded the PlexMediaServer-1.41.0.8994-f2c27da23-x86_64.exe but when i try to install it i get: The drive or UNC share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another.
I have updated my windows registry as per instructions, and have changed: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server InstallFolder to point to a new drive and folder. This does not appear to make a difference as i continue to receive the same error message.
Please help me to change the location for the install!
I can’t uninstall or anything as the drive where it had been installed no longer exists. I’m stuck!

Give the new drive the same drive letter that the old drive had.
Even if you only plug in an external drive temporarily. It only needs to be connected as long as it takes you to perform the uninstallation.

Don’t use the “install location” setting in the installer .exe to change the location away from drive C:
It doesn’t make sense at all to change that, because it only affects the executables of Plex server (only about 260 MB) but NOT the metadata about your media (several dozens of GB to hundreds of GB).
