Hi there,
Wondering why there is no Android (app) version of the Plex Media Server available to download…?
I know about the viewer client app and that I can share media through it, but it is not the same full-featured Plex Media Server which I could install on my Android box to stream my home video (hundreds of GB worth) off of and also share it with family throughout the globe.

Android is largely a mobile / player (TV), not server, platform.
It is still more server (as in, it is Linux) than some of the platforms you currently support for PMS
Any chances for an Android PMS soon? I would join any such effort as alpha- or beta tester.nn
a) that’s your opinion. The mainstream distros are either Redhat or Debian based and not Google.
b) unlikely to be an Android PMS except where a vendor, like nVidia, has combined the player and server into their device.
It’s a shame, really.
Fingers crossed for that standpoint to change soon, mate…
Also, I will try installing a Debian virtual environment app and then a Debian PMS. Pretty dirty hack, but should work.
