I have Plex installed on my Ubuntu Server and videos freeze while playing them back in Chrome or Firefox. Sometimes they freeze for a second or two, other times I will have to refresh the browser after an extended time and resume playback.
The ubuntu machine is an i9 with 32GB of memory and GTX-1060, so I don’t believe hardware performance is causing the issue.
This happens with local files, and files streamed from a remote server. When streaming videos from my server to my Roku or Ipad there are almost never any issues. The issue has been happening for a few months now, and I have done multiple server updates during that time.
It also started having issues with higher definition content as well. At times it will not start playing a movie at the original quality and I will have to select a lower bit rate to get it playing. This never happened in the past, previously I could watch movies of any size or quality without issue.
