Server Version#: 1.42.1.10060
Player Version#:
I am running Fedora version 42 on my server.
Plex has recently blocked access to my library for my TVs on the local network (in some ways). Everything was working fine a couple weeks ago, but changed after the last 2 plex updates. Version 1.41.3.9314 was working, but updates to versions 1.41.9.9961 and later to 1.42.1.10060 are giving the same error symptoms. Both updates were done since August 3rd.
When I connect to my server and select Videos - Movies - All Movies it presents a blank scree or says no files found The same for most categories with buttons on that screen.
However there is something strange in that I can select the By Year or By Decade and can watch any movie that is earlier than 2000. Only the ones for 2000 thru 2025 in my local library are blocked when I use that route.
If I use my computer and use the web page for local network access I can select and play any video in my library with no issues.
I have DLNA enabled as without it nothing is playable anywhere.
The server is on a different machine than I use as my daily driver and that I use to perform admin of plex.
I also have plex pass so that should not be an issue.
Does anyone have a clue why only the latest videos (2000 and newer) should be blocked and not viewable on a TV, yet still visible via a web page connection to the server?
File system permissions have been verified and consistent across the entire library so that should not be the issue.
I have also cleaned and rebuilt the database using the DBRepair tool from GitHub - ChuckPa/DBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases
The tool Plex SQLite that supposedly is installed by plex was not on my system so I had to search for another method to check the db and found that one
