Since updating plex to 1.28.0.5999, all lib are not available, but I can navigate properly
Recheck the shared folder permissions.
DSM updates sometimes interfere with (remove) Plex permissions. (It happens more than you would think)
Thank you, I just check and ACL were ok, I just update Plex, not DSM
Did you put new media in the folder ?
Do you have any other programs which write to that shared folder?
At this point, I do need to see the logs which have captured the errors.
PMS doesn’t just have files not be available on Synology
Did anyone solve this - updating to 1.28 on Synology
I have the same problem. - on two Machines now (918 & 3617xs)
Plex is there as is the library list but no content
"Something went wrong
An unexpected error occurred."
Only updating Plex nothing else changed.
Any recomendations.
Thanks
I can’t figure out what the problem is in order to solve at this point.
Can you please do the following for me?
- Verify debug logging is enabled in the server (SAVE if you make changes)
- Recreate the problem.
- Download the logs ZIP file
- Attach it for me to look through
Plex Media Server.log (8.6 MB)
I try to perform some test :
I delete from Synology my Plex
I perform install with Package community Plex
Now my version is 1.18.5.2309
I have exactly the same issue
I can acces remotly to my plex server
All lib and user were present.
When I want to modify a lib, i have an issue
I create a new one for video, and when Plex parse my folder it don’t find any movie.
I have an error when I want to acces at this new lib
I create a new one for Soundtrack, and when Plex parse my folder it don’t find any mp3.
But, I can acces to this lib, he just put a warn, as this lib was empty
Thank for your help
This sounds very much like permissions problems
Can you check this please ?
Plex User have Read / Write permission on each folder
Please make a ZIP file of the entire Logs
directory under Plex Media Server
and attach it here (Use Filestation: Right-click Logs
→ Compress to Logs.zip
)
Logs.zip (4.7 MB)Thank for your help
Thank you.
I found it immediately.
It was as I suspected but wanted confirmation first.

The database is damaged and needs repair…
REPLACING it with a copy of one of the backups is usually easier.
-
Stop Plex
-
Open FileStation
-
Navigate Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases
-
Rename
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
tocom.plexapp.plugins.library.BAD
-
COPY your oldest backup (right-click COPY TO)
-
Place it up one level to
Plug-in Support
-
Navigate up one level in FileStation
-
Rename the backup copy to be
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
-
Now MOVE it back into
Databases
-
IF THEY EXIST
– Deletecom.plexapp.plugins.libary.db-shm
– Deletecom.plexapp.plugins.library.db-wal
-
Right-click
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
– Make certain it is owned by userPlex
, groupusers
-
Start PMS
-
Give it a minute to stabilize again
-
Open PMS
-
Verify everything is present and you can read the sections.
NOW, as last step, Refresh All Metadata for each section so the backup database catches up with the changes you’ve made since it was created
For the moment I perform all step to 14, but I can’t acces to PMS, still runing into DSM interface but I can’t access (I delete files step 10)
After few minute I can acces to my PMS, thank you so much, your are my angel
Thank you
I did tell
Glad all is well
